Thoughts from a Christian businessman

What an interesting time I have had in this world.

I definitely feel as if I have experienced more than most people can ever dream of. And to think that I have had about 10 lives all before 40. I have had many ups and I have experienced my fair share of downs. I have experienced great success and reached many goals all before turning 21! 'Big deal,' you say. 'What's in it for me?' Well, OK...follow along.

As the journey of life goes on so many things happen, and it can be quite fun. You think success is measured in 'making a million bucks before your 25th or 30th birthday.' Goals are great, but there is more to life than just making the benjamins. Let me ask you this, after you make that money then what? Perhaps the capitalist in you then says, 'make 2 million.' Nice answer. I appreciate the honesty. But...

Is Money all that matters?

Of course not. It is important, but even the greediest person on the face of the earth would say that there is more to life than just money. How about your health? Your time? How about being free from the yoke of debt? How about family? Love? How about giving back? What type of testimony do you want to live and leave others?

It is OK to have money, just don't let money have you. Don't be so consumed on making that buck. Trust me, I have been there and made sick amounts of money. More than most people make in several lifetimes. But it came with a price. Everything usually does, doesn't it? What are you giving up?

So what do you do?

Good question. I'll give my stab at it...First, relax. If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do? Seriously, you really wouldn't go parachuting (I thought this was a little overrated when I did it) or shoot the rapids. You probably would spend time with people. People you love. People that will love you back. You might even feel burdened to apologize to others and right your wrongs. You might see good in even your enemy.

I share this with you because I want to teach, coach, give, (call it what you want) you what I know. I really try as much as possible to live my life with the people I love. I even spend time with people who don't even necessarily love me, but I know that God loves them just as much as HE loves me. Granted, my love is limited, but His is not.

Like I shared, along the 'valleys' in my life I have reached many mountain peaks. That's pretty cool. I have been blessed to be at the right place at the right time several times. I think I am experiencing one time of blessing in my life right now as you read this. I truly am living a life of real abundance. Not necessarily the life of abundance you think, but something much better than you can imagine.

My goal is to help others experience the same journey to peace and freedom that I am. I am solid in my beliefs and I offer value to others. But this value is nothing of myself. It is something much greater than I can ever imagine or even conceive in my limited and underused mind.

I am a real person who laughs, loves, and falls like you. I also get up very fast. I am a quick learner and I adapt and improvise on the fly. I also don't like to BS or spend a lot of time in small idle talk. My natural demeanor is impatient, almost even pushy. I am a total 'A type personality' who wants things done yesterday, and I want it done correct. I also could see why people would be intoxicated with the old saying, 'the strong survive.' At the end of the day, again, this attitude is worthless. It will torment you and leave you with no true peace. Plus, people will think you are a real jerk.

So how do you TRY to live Tom?

One day at a time, moment by moment. I can do this because I have the secret figured out. Trust me on that. I then try to live outside of my fallen nature and keep my mind set on the Spirit. I think of the things above not below. Do I succeed all the time? No. Nobody does, and nobody will. But I try. I also know I am forgiven and I have been purchased.

But can you succeed in 'the world?' Can you be a successful business man or woman?

Absolutely. We are to be the head and not the tail. We are to be wise. There is so much to say on this, but let me try to keep it brief. First off, never panic. Never be desperate. Never let them see you sweat. And why should you when you know that He supplies all your needs?!

Have you ever heard of Zig Ziglar, or Tommy Hopkins, or Tony Robbins? They all have different 'religious beliefs' but they are all known as 'motivational speakers/coaches.' Or how about one of the so many of the new age thinkers out there...do you know what ALL these guys have in common? Positive speaking. Why? Because they follow a biblical truth. That's right many of the guys do not even believe in God, yet they practice exactly what God says. Some of these guys might be lost, but they are sharp businessmen.

A great example of this is found in the book of Proverbs 18:21 where it says, 'death and life are in the power of the tongue.' Funny, but that was written almost 3,000 years ago. I won't bash you with bible verses, but there is a solid business principle that can be applied here. You can either be natural or supernatural. Which do you want to function under?

I like to work. Work is good for you. It can keep you out of trouble. I just don't want to work 15 hours a day, and I don't want to work for 'the man.' I did both of them, and I now want to help people avoid that at all cost. I like to invest now in people and relationships. That is why I am totally involved in network marketing. It gives me freedom and allows me to live the life I want to live. If you can jump in, do it. Or, if you need to go slow, that is quite all right as well. Let me know if you need any help along the way.

Oh yeah, like I said before, I have been in the right place at the right time. I have been able to find winners. I have lead people before to success. I know what are the key components in what to look for in a company before becoming involved with them. A lot of people do value my input and follow my leadership. They know I have been right so many times before. I welcome you to get in touch with me.

I'm gonna get going here. I appreciate your time. Hopefully you see we do have a lot in common. If you would like to know more about me and how I avoid working for 'the man' feel free to get in touch with me. I'll leave my web info for you. Tom's_website I also will be releasing my long awaited success series and I will be distributing info on my blog soon. Take care my friend, and may the Lord bless you.

P.S. Are you living the life you want to live?

Hi Tom, Regina from Alabama here. I joined Genewize about a month ago and I came across your blog via a "google alert."

I couldn't help but notice this post because I'm a Christian lady who is trying to become a businessman/woman. In my massive search for a product/business, I couldn't commit to just anything and then.... I found Genewize. You see, I have an autistic son and know alot of beautiful autistic people that could benefit from this specialized nutritional supplement. I'm still waiting for his assessment.

Anyway, your post sounded as if I was reading MY MIND. My life story is somewhat different, but our conviction of a mission to allow God to use us for good, what satan meant for destruction, is exactly the same - Glory to Our Lord!!!

Alright, to my point.... I feel like I'm travelling down the dirt road to Genewize, and I have to say, it is of no fault of my enroller and especially no fault of Genewize. The training is unbelievable and somewhat "overwhelming" to me, since I'm pushing 40 years old, two teenage boys and a marriage that has been in the "repair shop" for a while (it's mending slowly but surely, thanks to the grace of God.) Also, I'm trying to "catch-up" on life after an aweful past 10-12 years. Long story.

I'm babbling now, sorry.... I've been introduced to the blogging concept as a marketing tool, and love the idea of telling people about my struggles and the wonderous power of God that brought me through each and every one of them. I've researched, read, subscribed and yes, even paid for information to learn how to get started.

Thus, this random email you are reading now. HELP!!! I'm not the type to "step out" like this, but you said in your post that "your goal is to help others experience the same journey to peace and freedom." And I agree - this value is nothing of myself, but I want to help people, children, mothers, fathers, etc.

I really would like some guidance and your words were like a "balm" to my soul. If you wouldn't mind the idea of "mentoring" me through this maze of internet marketing, please email me at reillymom2boys@gmail.com. I know I may be asking alot, but if you sow this seed, you will see that it is good ground and it will produce a harvest for alot of folks. Thanks and God Bless You.
